Logo-Unit 5
A raster image is composed of pixels with each pixel having a specific value. A vector image is composed of instructions on how to form shapes with specific values and does not use pixels. A vector image can be scaled to any size and will still retain its sharpness, however as raster image has a set resolution and if it is enlarged it becomes blurry. Theses are used in graphic design because sometimes a designer wants an image with more pixels, and other times he just wants an image that doesn't blur out.
How is Adobe Illustrator similar to and different from Adobe Photoshop?
Both Adobe illustrator and Photoshop have similar tools. However Adobe Photoshop is used to create or modify a digital image. But Illustrator deals with vector images, and mostly anchors.
How are logos a form of visual communication for the business, organization, or product they represent?
Most logos have symbols that express what the organization wants to send out to its customers. These logos help the customers understand what the main purpose of the organization is briefly. The logos are very helpful to both the organization and the customers.

How can text be transformed to express meaning?
Many people have trouble with expressing themselves. By using photoshop and the different text tools and effects one can easily express who they are. You can observe and know the personality of that person also by looking at their piece of work. Depending on the colors, shades, and the kind of texts they use. Using photoshop and the text tools and effect helps a person expresses him/her self.
Why are Photoshop tools/effects used to transform simple text into creative text designs?
As we learned in this unit, you as a photoshop user can easily be creative and turn your simple looking text into something that looks very creative and shows hard work. Those tools help a person express themselves, and make the work look more professional. It also indicates that the user of photoshop had out effort into making the assignment his own work and style. These tools and text effects are very easy to use, however they have a huge impact on your work. They create lovely designs and make your work look very attractive.

Creative text is used all around the world today. They use it in many different places. For example on your cereal box, the words are made by using creative text. Also on your shopping bags they use the different types of texts. Another example can be in billboards. Creative texts are used very often, and you can find them almost everywhere.

The goal of this project is to help photoshop users express themselves by using different effects for the text tools. This project helps develop new and creative types of text tools. Also another goal might be to make the assignment more you.
What tools/skills did I learn through this project?
This project taught me a lot of new skills. The thing i enjoyed doing the most was the 3d text effect, it was a great lesson to learn. It might be complicated but at the end i learned how to do it. The most tool we used was the text tool. Another part i enjoyed doing was in the project when we had to put the two images(day and night) together to create a cool looking effect.
-What did I do most successful in this project?
In my opinion the most successful thing i did in this unit is the text with photo mask effect. However i find it much better when we watch a tutorial instead of reading instructions. Another part i think i succeed in is the first part of the project. I really liked working with the text effects and all the different types of texts, it was a great unit

How are Hollywood black & white photos both similar and different today from throughout history?
-Hollywoods black and white photos are both similar and different today from throughout history. They are smilier because the photos are always black and white, plus most of the photos show what the celebrity looks like. They are also similar because they express what is happing, for example the facial expression of the celebrity.These hollywood portraits might differ today from how they where a couple of years back too. This might be because now our world is much more advanced than before. We have more advanced technology like cameras and also the photoshop documents have changed, to the better of course.
Why are Photoshop tools & effects used to transform portraits?
-Photoshop tools and effects are used to transform portraits because they make the portrait look more professional. They also hide most of the bad things in the portrait. They can also add effects that might explain what is happing. for example the background, if its light it might let the viewer think that the person in the portrait is a optimistic person. However if its dark, it gives the viewer the opposite.
How do designers express their mood and personality through use of tools and effects?
-Designers express their mood and personality through the use of tools and effect. Many designers have their own way of expressing what they truly feel. These designers might use their work to express what they are feeling. So if a person is looking at a work of art, and that piece is very dark that person might conclude that the author is in a depressing mood. On the other hand, if the image has many bright colors and maybe a caption that makes you smile, we would know that the artist was in a good mood and very cheerful one maybe. The artist could use masking effects to put a symbol that means something to the artist.

3 Portrait Layouts
The first photo's goal was to make the photo look like a colored ink drawing. Also to improve the picture and make it look more professional. The tools i learned to used through this project are the overlay layer, which was used throughout the whole project. Another tool we used a lot was the Sharpen More filter. I was following the directions and that lead to make my overall image look better, and thats what i did successfully.
Photo two:
The goal of this image is to re-touch the photo. The goal is also to change the level of the photo and the look of the object. The most tool we used in this project was the gradient tool. The skills i learned are to follow directions, also in photoshop you have to be very careful with what layer you're working on. The thing I did most successfully is the light effect looked very nice with the picture.
Photo three:
For this picture the goal is to create a high contrast photo. Also to merge images with your picture. The tools i used in this project are layer masking. Another tool i think was used very often was the eraser tool, it was used to make the photos you merged with your original photo more contrast. The thing i successfully did here is how i used the eraser tool and how i merged the images together, and also the layers where done properly.

1) The various types of digital images are:JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and BMP. If your picture is a low resolution picture it means that you do want want much detail and the space of the image is limited. However, if you want a high resolution it means that your going to have a lot of detail.
2) Digital images are used fairly in today's world because you see them everyday. You see them on billboards, commercials, and all kind of other adds.
3) Photoshop improves the image quality by either making a dull image look more alive or the brightness of an image can improve
4) The tools that are used to apply image enhancement are tools used in photoshop, for example the color brightness. However many different people use other websites or documents.
